Elf in the dark

@rpbabqSay dark (magical or natural) 20′ away. Elf rogue moves to shadows, bonus to hide, std action to range sneak attack each rd. OK? by rules, that works. keep in mind that foes will actively search for rogue. if he stays put, likely found. — Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) June 16, 2015

Druid’s no-metal rule

@ChrisPerkinsDnD A friend of mine has trouble with Druids' no-metal rule. Are metal weapons exempt, or do they need, like, wooden scimitars? — Miracle Alex (@NonagonNonsense) June 12, 2015 See the PLAYER'S HANDBOOK. The no-metal rule applies to armor and shields, and druids are proficient with scimitars. https://t.co/3XbIMKbMtS — Christopher Perkins (@ChrisPerkinsDnD) June 12, 2015 […]

Errata errata

Addressing a nuance in the PH errata: the rule lets melee weapon attacks use unarmed strikes, despite those strikes not being weapons. — Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) June 10, 2015 @corymacdonald It's in the errata document: "Instead of using a weapon to make a melee weapon attack, you can use an unarmed strike …" — Jeremy […]

Attack and special attack

@seekay“If you’re making an attack roll, you’re making an attack.” Is the inverse also true? Eg does MM trigger Hex? The inverse isn't true. Some special attacks, like grappling (PH, 195), don't include an attack roll. @mikemearls — Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) June 13, 2015 @seekayThanks! A spell without a roll like Magic Missile or Burning […]

Monster immunity to nonmagical weapon attack

@JeremyECrawfordThe intent is resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning damage, regardless of source (MM errata preview). I guess this means that lycanthropes will be immune to falling damage after all, eh? 😉 — Jonathan Longstaff (@pukunui81) June 11, 2015 @pukunui81 Lycanthropes and several other monsters are exceptions. For now, read "nonmagical weapons" as "nonmagical weapon attacks." — […]
