1)
They offered me much gold if I’d slay their marauding dragon, brown
Yet I hunted but found it not, until an old man said to me, with a frown
“It’s yonder, where all the half-eaten folk are lying down.
Slay it now and claim rightful renown.”— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) September 16, 2018

Now this was the first I’d heard of a brown dragon
And the beast’s snout alone was as long as a good-sized wagon
I was filled with dread
And would have fled
Had my knees not been both a-tremble and saggin’But slowly up to it I went
As my advance I’d already spent
And found the wyrm slept not; ’twas dead and rotten!
It’d munched on courtiers sneering and cold
Whose service was old, not bold
And from their bile and spite, poisoned it had gotten— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) September 16, 2018

So I cast a smoke spell to hide the “fray”
And stood and at the dead wyrm carved away
Shrieking many a shriek
So they’d think my chances bleak
Until I proudly served up their butchered brown dragon
Now I think it’s high time for a fresh flagon— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) September 16, 2018
