So do any 5e DMs give out +2 or +4 magic items? I am working on Hell’s Rebels (from Pathfinder) and I saw a chain shirt +3 and got weirded out. It’s funny how 5e sticks with +1 items for the most part.. it works well! The fact that 5e item enhancements cap at +3 is a big shift. If you see a +4 weapon in 5e that's probably something on the order of an artifact.
