@astoxastosClarification:can u use the same hex spell after an encounter at the next encounter with concentration all day? you'd need to find a new target for it between encounters, otherwise it ends.

I am confused with this response. How could you find a “new target between encounters” if you can only move Hex or Hunter’s Mark after your current target drops to zero hit points. What kind of target would qualify between encounters?
3 hours after the battle the Thea finally turned to me and said ” Hey Aldrich, did Jacob do something to offend you? You have been staring at the back of his head like you wanted to fill it with arrows.”
There’s nothing that says you must transfer the Hex/Hunter’s Mark on the very next turn after original target drops. It says “subsequent” turn. So as long as you’re concentrating on it, the spells should last the whole duration.
Can someone explain functionally how this works? Like does a celestial warlock need to keep a sacrifice in their pocket to make use of the possible 24 hour duration of hex?
