Is there any lore reason for these lakes being named in different languages? That's a question for R.A. Salvatore, who created them and Ten-Towns around them.
I suspect the names reflect settlement by intrepid adventurers from distant lands (or in this case, via gates/portals) worlds.

Oh, yes. The earlier Drizzt novels have instances of "useful" drow individuals being inducted into other houses in Menzoberranzan (and so, surviving the elimination of their former house).

I was researching something, and I’m curious as to the origin of Ninemen in Nulathoe’s spell? Does it come from nine man’s morris, or some other archaic usage? Nope. I made it up. ;}
I'd penned a short story in which a wizard used a spell to fix the broken joints of 9 men after a battle; it became "ninemen" and (alliteration's artful aid) got hitched to the spell. I was 6 at the time, and D&D was still a decade away.#Realmslore

You have probably already answered this, and apologize if so, but is there a delivery service/USPS analog in the Realms? Do major cities all have hubs? What about smaller villages? How are courriers viewed/treated? If already answered, can you guide me as to where? Tx Temples provide a message-and-small-item (like keys, deeds and other documents) delivery service, by "slow shuttle" of clergy travelling on to the next temple, then the next, and so on.
