Gamers should just play the game that makes them happy, the way that makes them happiest. If you're having fun, you're doing it right.

Do you reply to rules questions sent to the sage advice email to the same extent as to those on Twitter?

Crawford is the only official voice of the rules – otherwise, it’s advice

Don’t try to explain the rules up front. Deal with them as situations arise.

Does the D&D tabletop RPG have one official setting?
Does the #dnd tabletop RPG have one official setting? The answer is yes. That setting is the multiverse, which includes all #dnd worlds.

@atlemarmy kid keeps asking me to explain whether each setting is a planet or a plane and I don’t know the answer. The worlds occupy pockets of the Material Plane—sort of like planets but in a space shaped by magic and divine forces.
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) January 22, 2015
@pedr The inhabitants of each world in the Material Plane have different ways of imagining the multiverse (check out chapter 2 in the DMG).
