Tell me something you’ve seen in a book/movie/TV show/video game that you’ve brought into your #DnD game In the Vlad Taltos novels by @StevenBrust, they have these magical weapons called morganti that destroy their victims’ souls so they can’t be raised from the dead.
I built a holy slayer society in Zakhara that worshipped essentially Tharizdun with similar weapons. Nasty folks.

Adrilankha is damn cool. You should read the rest of the books if you haven’t already. 🙂

I’m just getting started, but I like to weave in classic fairy & folk tale elements. If my players pick up on the allusions, it provides hints on how to handle the dungeon. I recently ran a one-off based on Hansel & Gretel/Baba Yaga—an easy reference they largely ignored. 🤦♀️ I love mining other stories for adventures. 🙂 Don't worry if the players don't pick up on every reference. As long as it sparks your imagination, that will come through to them whether they actively spot the familiar forms or not.
