The DM screen is a narrative element that doles stakes & suspense in varying quantities as best intertwined the emotional link of characters and story.
If you have command of this, you needn’t fudge a roll. Also, understand dice function in the same capacity.

Ahhh .. the I need a safe spaces perspective on d&d . Dm is god and many rolls the player shouldn’t be privy too as to not create meta … roll an nat one on perception or knowledge.. that’s u fully know what it is (erroneously) this game has been great for 50 years .. we dont need more of u 4th ed gen kids mucking about with the misty allure of what happens behind the screen
