In last night's #DnD session a minor argument erupted after my char grappled a foe, but the GM allowed said foe to make ranged attacks on another char on its turn. The PHB says nothing about attacking while grappled. What's the conventional wisdom? Paging @JeremyECrawford, #TTRPG

A D&D condition does only what's in its definition. For example, the definition of the grappled condition doesn't say it hinders attacks, so it doesn't.
Reminder: if you make a ranged attack roll within 5 ft. of a foe who can see you, the roll has disadvantage (PH, p. 195). #DnD https://t.co/immi31mRmR
