Common @DnD_AdvLeague CCC writer mistake: creating story awards with new rules. We don't want players having to track a bunch of new rules, so CCC SAs can't have any mechanical effects. If they are needed for a future adventure, put the rule in that adv where the DM needs it.

Writing a @DnD_AdvLeague CCC adventure? Remember, they need to be in the Moonsea region. pic.twitter.com/rKgS2ZbS0c

Related to this, when creating CCC for Moonsea, can locations and other information be used/referred to from prior editions that might be set in the area? (Respecting all copyright issues clearly). If I understand correctly, you are asking if you can use old reference material or use locations/people from previous editions? Absolutely.

Frequently @DnD_AdvLeague CCC creators ask for exceptions to format/deadlines so they can "really show off their creativity" & get noticed. Lots of authors can be creative. You know what most can't do, follow the format and meet a deadline. You want to stand out? Try that first.

Most? The # of CCCs accepted on time on the 1st pass & needing 0 changes is actually 0. The # that hit every deadline is <25%. We had been understanding in the past, but given the # of CCCs now we are installing more automation. The computer will not "give you a pass" when you are late

More like “don’t you know that meeting deadlines and following templates are an important part of getting noticed? No? That’s wack.” We notice people all the time for reasons good & bad. 1 I find most confusing is someone who is especially difficult/rude interacting w/others in person & on social media, who then asks why they are not chosen for writing projects which by their nature require group interaction.

From an outsider’s perspective, this is a smart way to do it, imo. The rules are there to make sure y’all have time to do what you need to do. Whenever someone asks you to bend the rules, it means you have to rearrange your own workflow to accommodate it, which is unfair to you. And unfair to others, since it means other shows work/attention needs to be bumped to accommodate the change.

Your event producing a @DnD_AdvLeague CCC? Deadlines with the admins are firm, but its likely your authors/editors will let you down by a few days. Remember to pad their deadlines to give you time to complete the project. "My author was late" is not likely to get you more time
— Greg Marks (@Skerrit7h3green) January 17, 2019
Truth! I set the deadline for my CCC authors a month ahead of the Admin deadline. Out of 5 authors, 1 backed out before the deadline, 1 after, 2 were late, and only 1 made it on time. I had to write the other 2 myself, but I got them to the Admins on time. RESPECT THE DEADLINE! Someone turned it in on time? Who is this unicorn?

Interested in writing a @DnD_AdvLeague CCC? In order to do so you need an event to sponsor your adventure. They need to get approved w/Community to host it. Then you submit a concept/outline to Resource to est. deadlines, and from there you work with Content to approve drafts.
