Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait. You can Sneak Attack when you have both advantage and disadvantage? I thought having any source of disadvantage AT ALL disqualified a rogue from Sneak Attacking. If you have advantage and disadvantage, they cancel each other out and you’re not considered to have either.
Doesn’t matter how many of one, though. They don’t “stack.” pic.twitter.com/wqCzCRab9j

You’re saying a hidden rogue with a hand crossbow can Sneak Attack an enemy at long range? Yes

You can sneak attack at long range as long as the target has someone adjacent to him that he considers an enemy.
Newbie question: What if your target does not have an enemy nearby, but is unaware of your rogue at a distance (e.g: a goblin is sitting facing a campfire, and your unnoticed rogue is within shortbow range). Does the rogue get a “surprise round” advantage?
