@ChrisPerkinsDnD We have a player who crushes role playing for the group by focusing on rules. How to fix this?

One of my favorite f*ck-the-rules phrases is, "I'm gonna allow it." Ruley McRulesface will eventually figure it out. https://t.co/1DnFmCteSA

@ChrisPerkinsDnD Just pictured you in judges' robes with a gavel saying, "…I'll allow it."

What a coincidence! I'm wearing my judges' robes right now. Can't find my gavel, tho'. https://t.co/aOoJsjRYjw

@ChrisPerkinsDnD It's more that he tries to twist every rule/spell to advantage-asking the DM for a ruling and slowing the game down

Try this once or twice: "In the interests of keeping the game moving forward, I'm gonna say no this time." https://t.co/HMl30Nfxgs

@ChrisPerkinsDnD I was considering duct tape, but your solution is more friendly.

Let's call that "plan B." https://t.co/hk34Ftd1Nc

I usually remind players that any ruling I make in their favour will also apply to npc’s when appropriate
I don’t know the specifics of your situsitua. But the first question to ask the player isi, “what is it you’re trying to accomplish?” If you can get it done without taking an excessive amount of ruler bending…
If it’s trying to use a spell in some unique way… Tell them you’ll consider the implications between sessions and not at the table.
