clear cut line of failure when we make a choice. There were so many options to pick from and no real clear right choice. Couple of us feel like we were setup to fail no matter what. How would you approach bringing up this issue with a DM?

If there are no clear indications of the imminent failure should you choose that path? That seems a bit unfair, in my opinion. Is there an option to play out a means of correcting the choice through story? I would ask them if there is such a direction that could be taken.
