What are the actual laws regarding the Arcane in Vasselheim? I’m playing a mage there now and it would be very useful to know. Also, thank you so much for getting my wife into D&D, she is DMing now and is great at it!
CommentArcane Magic isn’t OUTLAWED, per say, just largely frowned upon. Mages aren’t trusted, due to the fallout after the Age of Arcanum, so any public display of semi-powerful magic that isn’t Divine in nature will draw attention and require an explanation by the keepers of order. Small fines and minor jail time may ensue. Presumably it would be seen as “disturbing the peace” type charges. You’d get the same treatment as for loud, drunken behaviour, but would earn a LOT of distrust at the same time. This exactly. If you didn’t have good reason, and with enough of an offense, you’d be briefly incarcerated to keep an eye on you and learn more about your nature.from discussion [Spoilers E106] Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting AMA.
