@matthewmercer What made you not do leveling up via XP but by story arc? #CriticalRole

XP was a classic tool, benefits groups that can be competitive with their advancement (which many can be for the sake of fairness). This time around, with our game’s continued focus on narrative and collective support, milestone made more sense. https://t.co/U224nWyeHy

Are you going to count Ashley in the Milestones to keep her level the same or have her own separate milestones?I intend to, aye! Doesn’t harm anyone’s fun. 🙂

Milestone advancement also takes a ton of work off the DM’s shoulders. Any chance to cut away extra math is a good thing. =)AGREEEEEEEEEEEEED

Curious how the Sun card would work in the milestone system. I’ll figure something out should that awful deck ever show up again. 😉

Hmm. You do you, of course, but I’m not a big fan of milestone. As much as it takes work off the GM, even in narrative heavy games, character advancement is such an integral part of the game of DnD, and milestones can take away from that feel of accomplishment Aye, it’s certainly not for everyone! I’ve not used it before, so thought I’d give it a spin. For this group, I don’t see it being an issue, but definitely don’t see it fittting every table.
