When a character dies and the player makes up a new character, what level do you start them at? #DnD #OSR #DungeonsAndDragons In older versions parties had characters at all different levels. In 5th Edition, it's more about the collective story and all the characters level up together. So when someone dies and jumps back in they start on whatever level the group is on. But it's DM's choice!
