When I GM, some of my evil characters (most of them tbh) are just bad. They’re not made to be redeemed. They’re not meant to be saved. They’re obstacles to overcome that have chosen to be simply evil.
I (personally) get so tired of redemption acts."They're bad because of this childhood which made them think it was okay to kill those people"
"They're a monster because they were lost in this world after__"
"It makes them more human"No, some people just choose to be bad. For redeemable to exist, some must be irredeemable.

I’ve encountered some terrible people in reality, stop trying to make me feel compelled to forgive horrible people in games or act like it’s something we NEED to delve intoALSO saying "They believe they're right" we're not talking about them in the sense of their beliefs. We're talking about a moral standpoint, now their reason or logic.
I'm talking about AS GM I know they're evil. It's not a secret.

Sometimes evil just has to be stopped.

This is a pet peeve of mine in movies as well, especially when they shoehorn in an abuse flashback towards the end. I feel like it suggests survivors of abuse are predestined toward villainy, which is messed up.
