While Warforged arw sentient, were there autonomous weapons during the Last War? -a controversial topic in international humanitarian law discussions nowadays Define autonomous weapons in this context. Does a warforged titan – able to follow commands, but not capable of creative thought – fall into this category?

Not really. In Int’l law they are “Any weapon system with autonomy in its critical functions—that is, a weapon system that can select (search for, detect, identify, track or select) and attack (use force against, neutralize, damage or destroy) targets without human intervention” So the Warforged titsn is more like a drone -humans choose to trigger commands. Autonomous weapons are more like “Terminator” minus self-awareness

You can tell a titan to do something and it can go do it on its own; it doesn't require a human pilot accompanying it. It just doesn't have the capacity for creativity.

Basically, I'm not sure where "autonomous weapon" falls in the spectrum of titan and normal warforged.

Pretty much. You can tell a warforged titan "Breach that fort. Kill all enemies. Take down the gate." It will follow those directives. But it doesn't have to have someone following it shouting "Attack that guy! Now attack that other guy!" – it can handle "kill the enemy."

What it can't do is alter its plans based on an unexpected development. The general surrenders! The enemy uses civilians as human shields! The warforged titan will ignore these things and stick with its orders of "kill the enemy."

There’s certainly still warforged titans around.
