Why is it call Eldritch Cannon? Isn't the design philosophy in 5e that eldritch refers to warlocks. Arcane Cannon seems to fit the artificer style better. Is there a lore association with eldritch magic and artíficers I'm missing?

"Eldritch" is an adjective that means "strange or unnatural, especially in a way that inspires fear." In eldritch blast, eldritch knight, eldritch cannon it's just being used with that meaning, and doesn't imply any sort of lore link between those three unrelated things.
